Dr. Sithole obtained his Doctorate at the Central University of Technology, Bloemfontein, South Africa, and his Master’s degree in Disaster Management at the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein, South Africa. He also graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma on Land Management and Informal Settlement Regularization from Erasmus University, Rotterdam, The Netherlands and a Diploma in Crisis and Mass Disaster Management, from the Centre for Strategic Studies, Israel. He holds several specialized courses certificates and diplomas in the field of disaster management and is a UN Accredited Train the Trainer in the field of Disaster Management, Humanitarian Relief, Civil – Military Relations and Conflict Related issues
Dr. Sithole is currently the Head of the Gauteng Provincial Disaster Management Centre (PDMC) at the Provincial Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), South Africa. Dr. Sithole has over 30 years’ experience in Disaster Management both in the private and public sectors including in Fire Services and appointments within South African Security and governmental structures.
He is an internationally known speaker in the areas of geopolitics, disaster management and climate change and civil-military relations. He has also developed a Disaster Management Course for Monash University South Africa.
