Consulting Hydrogeologist, CHR Water Consultants, Namibia
Mr. Christelis currently works as a Consultant Hydrogeologist in Namibia. He is a renowned expert in the Water Sector Development in Namibia, having worked for many years on numerous water projects throughout the country particularly on groundwater investigations and assessments, as well as on various rural and bulk water supply projects. As part of his extensive experience, Mr. Christelis spearheaded a SADC Initiative for Transboundary Groundwater cooperation between three neighbouring states; formed part of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) International Waters (IW) Science team and undertook a review of international transboundary water projects in the framework of the evaluation of the Transboundary Waters Programme. Lastly, as a Consultant at UNESCO, Mr. Christelis worked with the Transboundary Waters Assessment Programme to coordinate the Assessment of Transboundary Aquifers within Southern and Eastern Africa.
