Ms. Balogun holds a Master’s degree in Disaster Risk Management from the University of the Free State, South Africa, and a Bachelor degree in Business Management from the National University of Lesotho.
She currently works at the Munich Climate Insurance Initiative (MCII) at the United Nations University Institute for Environment and Human Security (UNU-EHS) in Germany. Specialized in topics relating to disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, as well as slow-onset losses and damages and their impacts on vulnerable populations, Ms. Balogun currently focuses on the project: “Advancing Climate Risk Insurance plus” (ACRI+). Through this project, she leads the conceptualization and design of the Integrated Disaster Risk Management concept from an insurance perspective. Prior to her current experience, Ms. Balogun worked as a researcher and volunteer on topics such as HIV/AIDS, youth capacity development and disaster risk reduction in Lesotho and South Africa
